QR codes seem to be all the rage lately. They are a great way to connect with your end user and link them to the information they are looking for. But don’t be fooled – QR codes aren’t for everyone, or anything for that matter. Here’s what you need to know about QR codes and how they can help your business:
1. What to Promote
Decide what you’re going to promote – is it your website, event, special offer, etc. Having a QR code on your business card that links to your website may seem like a good idea, but why not list your website? After all, knowing what to promote with your QR campaign is just as important as having the QR code itself.
2. Where to Promote
I’ve seen QR codes on anything from business cards to billboards and everything in-between. Heres a general rule for placing your QR code: If you don’t have time to scan the code, you shouldn’t have a QR code present. After all, scanning a QR code while driving can be quite the task!
3. Track your Results
A good QR code should be able to track the effectiveness of your campaign. You’ll want to know how many people have actually engaged with you and the content or promotion you’re promoting. For example, if you’re running an event and promoting it through a QR code campaign you’ll want to know your number to see things such as conversion rates, etc.
